Grammy awards 2014

Happy new month to you,you and you. This year has already started moving so fast.February is here so make the best of it.
So I know its a bit too late but i wanted to share with you the dresses i thought to be the best for me from the Grammy awards.Imagine this was last month.lol.Feel free to agree or disagree with me.I got to realize the other day that even the best fashionistas have very different tastes and approaches.I left some out because maybe i did not appreciate their taste and only picked a few that caught my eye.

I started with Ariana grande she has the most amazing voice just a by the way.Anyway i love because she is really tiny but totally knows how to dress her body. And i actually loved the flowered dress but feel free to tell me what you think.Maybe its just because i love her.

Then there are the two above couples who stood out for me but my best had to be John legend and the wife.I just love that dress. :*

I noticed that most of the ladies went for the cool and relaxed colored dresses. Like cream and white.Maybe that was the theme. But there were some who tried a bit of red and Colbie Caillat pulled the red well.I loved the detail at the top. This were my best but there were many others ,this were just the few. :)
In other news enjoy the month of love .
xoxo

Know your Size!My Customers' Special.

So this is my last blog with braids. Bye bye braids got my natural hair back. I will not be plaiting braids anytime soon after it did not work out this last time.I do not know whether it was the salty water but yah! my hair came out from this braids shorter. But anyway enough of that.

So you're going out shopping with your friends, but you don't want to spend too much time trying on clothes! This article is to help you determine your clothing size. .Not to say you are a size ten when you are a size six and vice versa. It is good to know your size for it will be easier to shop. One does not have to keep on trying everything all the time.

Many of my customers apparently do not know the size of clothes they way.So this piece is basically to help all of y'all ladies to identify your clothes size.

Dress:Kadasiah's Collection .For more options on dresses, dress tops and bags, click Here.

I love this dress because of the lace detail in the upper part and the plitted  lower part. The difference and beauty just amaizes me.

Personally I am a size 12.How did i know this?It is not that complex. You can decide to use the complex way or you can try the complicated way.So i will share both the complex and the easy way.For me the first step was just looking at the size tag on most of my clothes. Most of my trousers are a size 32/12 and my dresses the same size 12.Sizes vary from country to country but like in Kenya if you find you wear one size most of the time that is it.There are times i find myself wearing a size 10 but mostly i range form there .So if you want to start here is a great beginning for you.

For the complex option you can do measurements. You measure yourself first, using dressmakers tape (a thin plastic measuring tape that can be wrapped around the body).
  • Bust- This is your chest area (breasts), to measure wrap the tape around your body, make sure the tape goes over your nipple, not under or above.
  • Waist- Your waist is near your stomach, to measure place the tape right beneath your belly-button. Don't suck your breath in- it wont help later.
  • Hip- When measuring your hip, don't measure the widest part of your body (near the buttocks), but measure your hip so that the measuring tape touches your hip bone, on both sides.
For me this is the complex option. And you will get to know your size, more precisely. Ps: you can just take a tape measure and do this in the house.

For many it may not be so automatic because people have different sizes. Some have the hour
glass shape(the famous size eight as we like to call it)where one is proportional both on both the upper and lower part of the body, the pear shape(this is the one where one is bigger on the upper part of the body and smaller on the lower part of the body, the coke shape(made this up)where the lower part is bigger than the upper part of the body.
All this body shapes require different dressing and it is good to know how to.Because you can wear a top size 8 and a trouser size 12.Its possible so there is need to understand your body shape and treat it well by dressing it right.
Different materials also demand different approaches. For material that do not expand like chiffon, you have to get it right.Get a smaller size of a top in this ,aterial and it wont fit.Stretch materials on the other hand, one can compromise.Like the drees above is a size 10 but i was able to compromise since its a stretch. But is it was a size ten chiffon it would not have fit.Just to talk a little bit more about chiffon if you have ever noticed most of the tops and dresses that are chiffon are loosely fitted. This is because if you were to wear a tightly fitted chiffon for your size, like for example i am a size 12 then i want to wear a size 10,i would not be able to move :D literally. This is because of the material whose design is to fall loosely on the body and fit classily. There are exceptions...in cases where the inner lacing is of a stretchable material. I will do a better feature of this later on .

Forgiveness vs. Judge-mentalism

This past Sunday i visited with the Nairobi pentecostal church  Karen .Although i have gone there several times this time it was different the preaching really spoke to me and i connected it in a way, to what i have been learning from the book of acts this month.I have learnt about judgment-mentalism(am not sure this word exists) and forgiveness. Not necessarily judgement day or judges in court, but people judging other people.

As humans we tend to have the habit of judging other people.I especially. On the basis of first impressions or one mistake that they did.But that is not our job.We are not called by God to judge thats His Job.We are called to love.We are never in the other person's shoes so we cannot claim to understand.I as a believer find myself being judgy many times and i have observed this pushes many people away.Especially the new believers.

Everytime i read the book of acts what strikes me the most is always the story of saul whose name was later changed to paul.Saul did a 360 turn around from persecuting christians, to becoming the staunchest christian ever.Saul had his turn around when he was on his way to damascus to pesecute christians. He was that serious about his disapproval of Christians. On His way he met with the Lord who rebuked him made him blind and immediately saul heart was smitten by God, and later when he got his sight back , he was ready to do the work of God.
Saul was holding the cloaks for the men who were stoning stephen.

Saul on his way to damascus

The funny thing about this story is that it repeats itself over and over in our day to day lives, not directly but indirectly. When the believers heard that saul had converted to christianity, they wanted to hear non of it.They actually wanted to ambush him on several occassions but God was with him and they never got the chance .It took quite a while for them to accept him.The same thing happens to date. When people who were in sin come to christ and hit the road running,it is us believers who actually do not accept them.We in a way make them feel like they will be sinners forever, yet we are not the ones who forgive sin,But christ who does. And once it is done not even we can undo it(forgiveness).

I will digress a bit to forgiveness to the preaching that really ministered to me this past sunday.Sometimes we hurt people without meaning to and other times we are hurt and it is hard for us to forgive.Forgiveness is for our own benefit more than it is for others. There are others who hurt you constantly, even when you have told them about it and thought it solved. What do you do ??

Many are the times we find it hard to forgive.I included.Yet we forget the number of times jesus has forgiven us.Countless times to say.Everytime i remember this i ask myself 'if God can forgive me countlessly who am i not to forgive just once?'and many are the times we ask God to forgive us ,as we forgive others....When we forgive we set ourselves free from bondage. In many cases when we dont forgive..we waste a lot of time avoiding them, getting angry, complaining about them and being bitter.Yet if you forgive you avoid all these. In instances where you forgive and a person keeps hurting you.I have learnt that you can forgive but you dont have to tolerate.Especially because they may lead you to sin.If your right eye causes you to sin remove it.The same if someone causes you harm ,leading one to sin, forgive them but dont go in circles.Leave them to chill(my take).

Forgiveness and love counter judge-mentalism.When we are forgiven by God judgement is eliminated. When God forgives a person and we forgive them too judge-mentalism will not have a place. We will not have time to talk behind others backs because we love them too much to judge them. For those who come to christ let us accept them for christ already has.No judge-mentalism for forgiveness has already been granted. After a while the believers accepted paul but it would not have hurt if they accepted him earlier, and paul was mightyly used by God.Going through so much hardship but he stood grounded. He is one of the most admirable apostles of his time.

I have hurt many, judged many and refused to forgive many, but that was yesterday.Today makes a difference ,its me to choose which difference i will make :)
