Black and white.

So I decided to try these different outfits in black and white. I thought they turned out well. :)  After looking at various photos of myself over the past two weeks in the several blogs I have written I have come to the acceptance that I am plus-size. and I love it! Its not something I had thought about but in my other life I would have been a plus size model. Things I tell myself. I don't mind after all I am an African lady so what did I expect. Sometimes I make my self laugh :D

So this first outfit I tried doing such a simple outfit with black jeans, polka dot top and my new grey ankle boots. Its not so complicated and anyone of anyone can try it without much effort.

I tried adding the red handbag to add a touch of colour emphasizing on the value of using a handbag as an accessory .It never fails me.

In this second outfit I tried pulling off official wear. I am not such a fun of official but I loved this outfit. I love the lace material though. That of the blouse I am wearing.  My dream dress is to get a really beautiful lace dress. For  now. I know after a while I will have bigger fashion dreams but for now yah its that. So I love this top of mine and the pencil skirt too its not too short and not too long just perfect for me. Of course my all time favourite white peep toes. They always go with everything!

Love is always the answer to all life's questions.

David and Jesus

Today I will share with you what i have been learning from reading the book of john and the book of psalms. I have been reading through the book of psalms over the past one month. I am not yet done but as I was going through the first chapters I noticed something about him that shook me a bit. He was such a righteous man .It scared in the sense of can i really get to David's level? me a bit but it also challenged me.



Many are the times we are told that king david was after God's own heart and we ask ourselves why ?and many times we pray to be the same which is not easy. As I read through the book up to I around chapter 21 everything is well and one can actually picture the relationship that King David had with God .It was very remarkable. He endlessly speaks to God about his troubles and issues and tells God how he has tried his best to be righteous and God cannot forsake him. He then tells God to take care of his business as he has put his full trust in him. And I figured God answered him because until chapter 22 he never cried about it as much. In this chapter he asks God why he has closed his ears to him and kept silent.

I then started thinking this was a man after God's own heart yet he also went through the ups and downs of life just as many of us do .And he was also a simple man like us the only difference with him is that he was very sincere with God he dint try to put up a face or anything like that. Even in times where he sinned he went to God and God saw the sincerity of his heart and that's why God loved despite everything. He dint run away when things were going wrong or when he sinned. His relationship with God was so strong like that of a daddy, friend and finally his master all in one .In times where he messed up he humbled himself and asked for forgiveness.

In the book of john on the other hand I have learnt a lot from the life of Jesus such a remarkable man.He loved everyone despite of their pas t or what they were doing,He took time to teach and reveal God's truths to everyone who was ready to listen.He was the greatest teacher of all times.He taught about the truths of God so as to reveal the person of who God is to everyone.He healed and forgave.Not discriminating  nor thinking of whether one was a jew , gentile or samaritan.




He loved and still continues to love us despite our transgressions.My friend deedee in our bible study last week explained to us how our relationship with God sometimes is like that of a person getting married to someone whom they know will always cheat on them yet they still get married to them.Like the story of Hosea and Gomer .Yet he still came and died for us either way.I have learnt that God's love is remarkable not like our own .He loved those who were cast out.Those who even the religious leaders cast away.Most of his disciples were actually people who had flaws.The likes of judas and even peter who denied Jesus three times .Yet knowing all these things even before they happened accepted them.This love that no one can match up to.Most of the times when people wrong us we get so mad at them and find it hard to forgive them leave alone love them.Imagine if you knew before that they were going to betray you...you would not even talk to them.But not Jesus.He himself was and still is love.For Jesus is God.



In chapter 17 I learnt how much God loves and cares for us he prayed for us and loved us even before we were born.This is a chapter where Jesus prays for those he is leaving behind and those who will come later.Through the prayer one can tell how much Jesus loves us.You would have to read this chapter to understand what i am talking about.Love surely matches to his heartbeat.

Jesus was a descendant of David guess this is what intrigued me about them.Such wonderful men.And since we are also God's children (through salvation) we can also make such a big difference like they did.So submit yourself to God and he shall use you too to spread his love.

Orange the symbol of strength and endurance

My mother is such a fashionista even though she usually disagrees. She designs almost all of her dresses and some of mine and she is very good at it. My good fashion sense I got from her. So there is this dress its orange. Yah I know you are thinking orange??? who wears orange???Well yah that's me. My mother is the one who designed this dressed and got the material. It a simple yet elegant dress. It a special vintage designed dress with poofy in laces that make the dress look ball like.

It is one of those dresses you would picture wearing when you are going to a ball(those for queens and princesses) with those posh gloves. Anyway there are no gloves in this scenario but this is one of my most favourite dresses. It is one of a kind with a wonderful colour . The orange is not too sharp nor too dull it is just enough.

Orange combines the energy of red and the happiness of yellow. It is associated with joy sunshine and the tropics. Orange represents ,fascination, happiness, creativity, determination attraction, success, encouragement and stimulation.

My closet :) Just having fun!

As his month i am dwelling on the simple life in every part of my life here is an everyday look that anyone can try because every lady has tights in her wardrobe and a pair of hees.I tried it todayandit worked.Have a look.....

I just love my white peep toes I can wear them with practically anything.

My pearls.....my pearls that's all I can say

The goodness with tights especially black ones is that one can wear them with different dress tops and if they are thick enough with different tops.

I just love the peep toe  and tights combination especially if you have white shoes or black shoes you can never go wrong .So it wont hurt to try to pull this out  as you go out .Especially during this holiday season .A pair of heels can make such a simple outfit look better than you expect :)

Come as you are

Just a small lesson i learnt from this chapter of psalms this weekend when i was questioning myself..am i really fit to serve or be called a child of God for i am so sinful and i dont deserve to even touch his the tip of his toenail.

Psalm 15
LORD, who may dwell in your sacred tent?
Who may live on your holy mountain?
The one whose walk is blameless,
who does what is righteous,
who speaks the truth from their heart;
whose tongue utters no slander, who does no
wrong to a neighbor, and casts no slur on others;
who despises a vile person but honors those who fear the LORD;
who keeps an oath even when it hurts, and does not change their mind;
who lends money to the poor without interest;
who does not accept a bribe against
the innocent. Whoever does these things
will never be shaken.

I searched myself and realized i am not worthy as i do not fit this description.But i thank God for his unending grace loving me just as i am.And he said 'come as you are ' for if we were perfect and had it all together we wouldn't need him ,so with all our weaknesses he seeks us out.and slowly he will turn us to be all the noble characters mentioned in this chapter. It may be today,tomorrow or the next day we just need to be persistent and not let our weaknesses weigh us.For it is for a people like us that jesus came.
 
For in John (9:39-41)
39 Jesus said,[ a] “For judgment I
have come into this world, so that
the blind will see and those who
see will become blind.”
40 Some Pharisees who were with
him heard him say this and asked,
“What? Are we blind too?”
41 Jesus said, “If you were blind,
you would not be guilty of sin; but
now that you claim you can see,
your guilt remains. 
For a people like us who are blind is who he came for that we may see.
We did not earn our salvation and thus we cannot be able to keep it by doing good deeds or loose it by doing bad things.God expects to come to him and  be open withholding noothing from him.To go to him at all times not just when we think we are wothy.So remember.

Its never that serious

So the other day i realized that life is not so complicated it is the simple things that we do and the simple people that we are that make life what it is.So the other day i woke up in the morning i had no idea what i was going to wear but i pulled off a few clothes from my closet and put them on and it dint turn out so bad it actually worked.

 

Here i am wearing a black high low dress ,a beige jacket,mustard belt,gold loops,a pearl necklace,low heeled peep toes and a yellow handbag that turned out to be such an accessory that made the whole outfit look bright.I then realized after this day that its never that serious live life ,love and keep smiling.
